A New Partnership

NEXUS Scotland has arisen as a result of the coming together of the organisers of Scottish Christian Resources Exhbition and The Big Saturday. NEXUS Scotland 2007 will be the ninth event organised by Scottish Christian Resources Exhibition (SCRE) over the past two decades. It will be the second event organised by Clyde Presbyteries following the success of The Big Saturday in 2005.

Both 2005 events attracted thousands of visitors, and following these events it was recognised by both organisations that there could be major advantages for both organisers and visitors in organising an event in partnership.

This has allowed a return to the Scottish Exhibition & Conference Centre (SECC) for a three day event utlising Hall 3, Seminar Rooms and the Clyde Auditorium (Armadillo).

The new name NEXUS reflects the strategic importance of connecting: the coming together of churches and their resourcers, not just as visitors on the one hand and exhibitors on the other, but as one body, serving Christianity in Scotland to meet the new challenges and opportunities of 21st century Scotland.

NEXUS Scotland is truly a proactive change connecting two events which are different in their approach but have such synergy when brought together that they will make practical sense in bonding churches and their resourcers across all Scotland in greater unity than before.

As with The Big Saturday, the concept of 'Church Without Walls' will be an important part of NEXUS Scotland, helping visitors to discover new ways of being the church alongside the traditional and well-tried.

SCRE and Clyde Presbyteries seek also to encourage greater partnership with all denomoninations to make NEXUS Scotland an event of value, encouragement and inspiration for all churches.
